We are now preparing for our next phase of growth and are looking for a highly connected, commercially strong fundraising leader who can help us build relationships with investors and raise institutional capital.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Fractional VP – Fundraising & Investor Relations to own and drive the company’s fundraising initiative. This is not a conventional consulting position. The ideal candidate will become a close strategic partner to the founder and will be responsible for taking ProductFlo from:

Investor preparation → Investor targeting → Introductions → Meetings → Due diligence → Term Sheet → Fundraising Close

The ideal candidate already has a strong network across the VC, angel, family office and startup ecosystem and understands how investors evaluate early-stage SaaS and AI companies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising Strategy

  • Develop ProductFlo’s fundraising strategy and investor positioning.

  • Define the appropriate fundraising stage, target amount and investor profile.

  • Develop the fundraising narrative around ProductFlo’s:

    • Product

    • Market opportunity

    • AI differentiation

    • Business model

    • Traction

    • Growth strategy

    • Competitive positioning

    • Long-term vision

  • Advise the founder on fundraising strategy, valuation expectations and investor conversations.

2. Investor Identification

Build and maintain a qualified investor pipeline covering:

  • Venture Capital funds

  • Seed funds

  • AI-focused investors

  • SaaS investors

  • Angel investors

  • Family offices

  • Strategic investors

  • Founder/investor networks

  • International investors where appropriate

Prioritize investors based on:

  • Stage

  • Geography

  • Investment thesis

  • Typical cheque size

  • SaaS/AI focus

  • Portfolio fit

  • Founder network

  • Probability of interest

3. Investor Introductions

Use your existing network to generate warm introductions to relevant investors. Expected contribution should include actual access to decision-makers rather than simply providing a list of investor names. The candidate should be comfortable reaching out directly to:

  • General Partners

  • Managing Partners

  • Partners

  • Principals

  • Investment Directors

  • Angel investors

  • Family-office investment teams

4. Fundraising Pipeline Management

Own the fundraising CRM/pipeline and track:

  • Investor

  • Contact

  • Introduction source

  • Stage

  • Meeting dates

  • Investor feedback

  • Information requested

  • Due diligence status

  • Next action

  • Probability/status

  • Term-sheet status

Establish a disciplined weekly fundraising review with the founder.

5. Pitch & Investor Materials

Work with the founder to continuously improve:

  • Investor pitch deck

  • One-page investment teaser

  • Financial model

  • Fundraising memorandum

  • Product demo

  • Investor FAQ

  • Competitive analysis

  • Market sizing

  • Traction narrative

  • Use-of-funds plan

  • Fundraising data room

6. Investor Meetings

Participate in important investor meetings and, where appropriate:

  • Help prepare the founder

  • Join investor calls

  • Present ProductFlo

  • Answer commercial/business questions

  • Handle investor objections

  • Follow up with investors

  • Convert meetings into subsequent stages

7. Due Diligence Support

Coordinate with the founder, CA, CS and legal counsel to prepare information requested by investors, including:

  • Financial information

  • Cap table

  • Corporate documents

  • Product information

  • Customer/traction metrics

  • Business model

  • Technology overview

  • IP information

  • Contracts

  • Compliance documentation

8. Term Sheet & Deal Support

Support the founder during:

  • Term-sheet discussions

  • Valuation discussions

  • Investment structure discussions

  • Investor negotiations

  • Due diligence

  • Closing process

The candidate is not expected to provide legal advice and will coordinate with the company’s legal/financial advisers where specialist advice is required.

9. Investor Relationship Management

Develop long-term relationships with investors even when they do not invest immediately. Maintain a structured investor network that can support:

  • Current fundraising

  • Future rounds

  • Strategic introductions

  • Customer introductions

  • Partnerships

  • Hiring

  • Market expansion

  • Due-diligence discussions where applicable

  • Support toward securing a term sheet / investment commitment

Success Metrics

Performance will be measured primarily on quality and progression of investor conversations, not simply the number of introductions. Key metrics include:

  • Qualified investors identified

  • Warm investor introductions

  • Investor meetings

  • Follow-up meetings

  • Investor interest

  • Due-diligence processes initiated

  • Term sheets / investment offers

  • Capital successfully raised

  • Strategic investors introduced

  • Quality of investor network developed


Ideal Candidate Profile

Required

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated startup/VC/fundraising experience

  • Strong investor network

  • Experience with SaaS, AI, B2B technology or enterprise software

  • Strong understanding of venture capital

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong commercial understanding

  • Ability to work directly with founders

  • Ability to operate independently

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • High level of confidentiality and integrity

Strongly Preferred

Experience in one or more of:

  • Venture capital

  • Investment banking

The candidate should be able to demonstrate an existing professional network across relevant:

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate actual investor relationships rather than simply access to investor databases.


Engagement Structure

This is an equity-based fractional leadership opportunity. There will be no fixed salary initially.

The equity arrangement will be:

  • Subject to a formal agreement

  • Based on clearly defined responsibilities and milestones

  • Subject to vesting

  • Linked to continued contribution

  • Reviewed based on actual involvement and fundraising outcomes

The exact equity percentage will be negotiated based on the candidate’s:

  • Level of involvement

  • Ability to generate qualified investor access

Equity will not be granted solely for providing investor introductions.


Time Commitment

Expected initial commitment:

10–15 hours per week

The role may increase temporarily during:
